The authorities have always assured that they are handling several hypotheses regarding the circumstances of his disappearance.
Subbarayudu Konanki and Sreedevi Konanki, parents of 20-year-old medical student Sudiksha Konanki, have formally requested that Dominican authorities declare their daughter’s death. Sudiksha disappeared on March 6 during a spring break trip to Punta Cana. Authorities believe she drowned, as her clothes were found on the beach where she was last seen.
The parents stated that, despite the ongoing investigation, no new information has been provided by authorities, and no evidence of a crime has been found. Joshua Steven Riibe, the last person seen with Sudiksha, is cooperating with the investigation.

In a letter addressed to Major José del C. Ramírez de la Rosa, head of the investigation in the area, the family explained that declaring Sudiksha’s death would allow them to begin grieving and handle legal matters related to her absence. They acknowledged the legal procedures required and expressed their willingness to comply with all necessary formalities.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday at 2:00 PM, the Higüey Criminal Court is expected to review a habeas corpus request filed by Joshua Riibe, seeking to prevent his arrest in connection with the case.
